Olafur EliassonOne-way colour tunnel
A suspended arched walkway lined with triangular glass and acrylic panels that refract light into shifting bands of color.
Eliasson’s installation turns the museum’s atrium bridge into a prismatic passage: walking through its arched tunnel of triangular glass and acrylic panels, visitors see the light around them refract and shift through vibrant hues.
The piece was made in 2007 for Take Your Time, SFMOMA’s 2007–8 survey of the artist’s work, and was later given to the museum’s collection by Helen and Charles Schwab.
