RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me

Yun Hyong-keun, Mark Rothko, Yves Klein and others

Nearly 150 works from RM of BTS’s own art collection, paired with pieces from SFMOMA’s holdings, centered on Korean art.

Nearly 150 works from RM’s personal collection are shown with pieces from SFMOMA’s own. The core is modern and contemporary Korean art, by Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun, Chang Ucchin and others, with ceramics, calligraphy, painting and sculpture reaching back to the fifth century; many have never been shown in the US.

Korean works are set beside pieces by Mark Rothko, Yves Klein, Wayne Thiebaud and others. RM curated the show with two SFMOMA curators and wrote its wall texts by hand; he also narrates the audio guide.
