Klee Behind the Mask
Aug 8, 2026 – Apr 18, 2027 SoMa
Paul Klee and the mask as a way of picturing identity.
The show follows the mask through Klee’s work, from early caricature to the simplified, interlocking figures he made after the First World War, and sets it beside Dada and Surrealist artists including Man Ray and Claude Cahun.
