Jul 1, 2026 – Jan 31, 2027

Street scenes and intimate home photographs by seventeen teenagers from the museum’s Expanding the Walls program.

The show gathers photographs by the seventeen teenage participants in this year’s cohort of Expanding the Walls, the museum’s long-running program connecting photography, history, and community. Working close to their subjects, the young photographers record familiar objects, places, and loved ones at home, while others use blur and soft focus to capture the motion of New York City streets and subways.

An accompanying online exhibition adds further photographs and information about each artist. The show was organized by the museum’s curatorial fellows together with the program’s 2026 participants.
