Woven and fiber works by nineteen artists, old and new, exploring weaving’s formal, linguistic and narrative possibilities.

Nineteen artists approach weaving through form, language and storytelling, among them Gego, Trude Guermonprez, Dinh Q. Lê, Kay Sekimachi and Brent Wadden. Works include Ricki Dwyer’s handwoven cotton canvas inlaid with bamboo, silk and linen, Deborah Valoma’s woven waxed linen and Channing Hansen’s mix of wool, silk and holographic and glow-in-the-dark fibers.

A 1976 linen weaving by Lenore Tawney, lent by the Berkeley Art Museum, and an anonymous tie-dyed Nazca cotton fragment from Peru are shown alongside.
