Drawings of the places where the San Francisco Bay Trail stops short or fades out.

The 350-mile Bay Trail around the San Francisco and San Pablo bays, begun in 1987, is still unfinished. Newton reaches its sections by public transit and walks to where they stop, then draws those dead ends: a parking lot, an embankment, the edge of a subdivision. The drawings are on gray or brown paper, in media such as ink wash, gouache and chalk.

It is her first solo show at Hosfelt.
