Stefan KürtenEchoes From The Past
New paintings and carved wood panels of real American landmarks, plus three large pattern paintings.
Kürten, a German painter known for invented, empty mid-century houses, turns for the first time to actual buildings, including the White House, the New York Stock Exchange, the Dakota and San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts. Many are carved into woodblock panels and then painted instead of printed.
This is his eleventh solo show at Hosfelt, which has represented him since 1996.
