Thea DjordjadzeA well of night

Sprüth Magers

Sep 18 – Dec 19, 2026 Upper East Side

New and revisited sculptures in steel, aluminum, wood and plaster, including vitrines of prints, set against the townhouse’s own architecture.

Djordjadze builds the installation on site, setting new and older works in steel, aluminum and plaster against the gallery’s neo-Renaissance building, whose dark wood floors she has covered in pale vinyl. Steel vitrines hold ambiguous prints behind plexiglass, a form she first made in 2017 for Munich’s Pinakothek der Moderne.

New plaster-filled wooden reliefs keep the grooves, holes, scratches and drips of their making. It is her first solo show at the New York gallery.
