Rana Begum

The London-based artist’s first New York solo show: abstract wall and hanging works in metal, stone and glass that shift with light.

Begum’s first solo show in New York brings works from her Reflector, Louvre and Chainlink series. The Louvre pieces, in metal, stone and glass, take their form from the slatted louvers of vents, façades and blinds; hung on the wall or suspended, the works change with the light and the viewer’s position.

Born in Bangladesh in 1977, Begum lives in London; her work draws on geometric abstraction and Islamic pattern.
