Katya Labowe-StollWhere Willows Rise

Seven oil paintings of an imagined landscape after a great flood, where willows take root, in Katya Labowe-Stoll’s first solo show at the gallery.

The paintings, from 2025 and 2026, are set in one mountain range seen at different hours, the colors moving from early-morning grays and icy blues to sienna and ochre red as the light shifts across the valley.

Labowe-Stoll draws on Frederic Church’s landscapes, George Burr’s desert etchings, the plants around her Mount Washington studio and the flood story of the Torah. Born in New Haven in 1999, she lives in Los Angeles.
