Oct 6, 2026 – Jan 17, 2027 Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Paintings, drawings, set models and sculpture by the stage designer Richard Peduzzi, arranged around the giant Opéra Garnier models he made for the museum in 1986.

Peduzzi, long the designer for the director Patrice Chéreau, laid out parts of the museum when it opened forty years ago, including the overhead view of the Opéra and its Haussmann-era district at the end of the nave. The show gathers his models for productions such as Berg’s Lulu (1979) and Marlowe’s The Massacre at Paris (1972), with their recurring endless walls, towers and ruins.

Drawings from the collection chosen with him, by Viollet-le-Duc, Hippolyte Le Bas and Gustave Eiffel, point to his sources.
