Acrylic paintings by adults over 55 that blur the line between figuration and abstraction.

Fourteen participants in the museum’s Lifelong Studio program, which offers free sequential artmaking workshops to adults aged 55 and over, show original acrylic paintings that sit between recognizable form and abstraction. Their subjects include the body, kinship, nature, movement, emotion and the subconscious.

Lifelong Studio was created in 2023 with funding from E.A. Michelson Philanthropy. The show was prepared with museum educators Madison Green and Jinette Jimenez.
