Dominica GreeneA Cathedral Inside
A multimedia installation of soil, water, gold paint, fans, suspended fabric and projected video, made as an homage to Guyana.
Greene builds an environment from soil, water, gold paint and projection, with fans moving suspended fabric. The video draws on hours of documentation of her grandparents’ home in Georgetown, Guyana, in an effort to preserve a time and place that may not last.
The title comes from a 2005 family history by her great-uncle Michael Walcott. This is Greene’s first solo show in New York and her first step into the fine art sphere, after a career in dance and performance. She is the 2025–2026 A.I.R. Fellow.
