Concrete Forms: A Look at the Brillembourg-Capriles Collection
Lygia Clark, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Gego, Julio Le Parc, Jesús Rafael Soto and others
From Oct 4, 2026 Long Beach
Geometric, kinetic and conceptual works from a private collection of Latin American and international abstract art, shown at the museum for the first time.
Drawn from the Tanya Brillembourg Capriles Collection, the show follows geometry and the grid through postwar Latin American art: the geometric movements of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Cuba in the 1950s, Venezuelan and Argentine kinetic art, and Brazilian Conceptualism.
Installations, videos and experimental media extend the tradition into contemporary work. Nearly forty artists take part, and it is the first time the collection has been shown in the museum’s galleries. Curated by Adolfo Wilson and Gabriela Urtiaga.
