Legion of Honor

Jul 25, 2026 – Jul 25, 2027 Lincoln Park

Miró’s 1958 artist book with the poet Paul Éluard, shown within his wider work on printed books.

For À toute épreuve, Miró cut more than 230 woodblocks to print the book’s 80 color images, set among Éluard’s poems. The museum owns two copies, one bound and one unbound; the bound one was the first book collectors Reva and David Logan bought.

The show also looks at the printers, publishers and others who worked with Miró on his books. It is included in general admission.
