ZIO ZIO tutto a posto

Alessandra Cecchini, Marco De Rosa, Chiara Fantaccione, Andrea Frosolini, Daniele Sciacca and Guendalina Urbani

A group project by the six artists of Spazio In Situ, curated by Fulvio Chimento, on the Tor Bella Monaca suburb and its everyday language.

Marking the artist-run space’s tenth anniversary, the show is staged in its new venue in Pigneto, while the studios stay in Tor Bella Monaca. Six resident artists work with curator Fulvio Chimento on the Roman periphery as an autonomous place where new languages and styles arise.

The title borrows the lookouts’ call that warns dealers of danger and the reassuring “all clear” that follows. Read through Natalia Ginzburg’s idea of a “family lexicon”, it frames the neighbourhood’s people, landscape and architecture as a shared vocabulary.
