Photographic projects by six artists on places in change, from a river delta and a flooded city to Brazilian mines and Frisian marshes.
The show presents six of the twelve works produced for Heritage Lens, a European cooperation project on cultural heritage in transformation. Each artist stayed within a chosen place: a river delta, the southern Spanish coast, North Sea islands, a flooded city, mines in Brazil, the Frisian marshes.
In some works photography becomes material itself, through algae-pigment ink, family pictures recovered from mud, and light imprints on surfaces meant to fade. Heritage Lens is run by four photography centres, including Officine Fotografiche Roma.
