Mouna RebeizL’indovino

Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia

Sep 16 – Nov 29, 2026 Valle Giulia

An installation of twenty-two tarot major arcana on large mirrored surfaces, staged among the museum’s Etruscan antiquities.

Rebeiz first showed The Soothsayer at the 2022 Venice Biennale in the San Marino pavilion; here it is reworked for Villa Giulia. The mirrored cards reflect the visitor, and the piece draws on Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar and the Etruscan haruspex Spurinna, set against AI and symbolic tradition.

It fills the semicircular hall beside divination-related finds. In the Nymphaeum, a painting of more than sixteen metres, inspired by Vangelis’s Mythodea, accompanies a performance of painting and music. The route ends in the Zodiac room with panels on ecological transition. Curated by Roberta Semeraro.
