Paintings on stripped-back canvas, jute and linen, worked directly on warp and weft with little or no color.
Buscaglia’s work has moved from oil paintings dense with color and mixed materials toward what the text calls “scarnificazione”: reducing a painting to its essentials. She works on canvas, linen and jute, lightening the support by cutting into warp and weft, with or without a ground and sometimes with only a faint shadow of color.
The text, by Anita Mollo, likens the approach to body art, with the canvas standing in for the body. The show is part of Rome Art Week (RAW 2026).
