Black-and-white and color photographs taken by agnès b. on a five-day trip to Moscow in 1987, shown off-site at 17 rue Dieu.
In 1987 agnès b. travelled to Moscow with the writer Philippe Trétiack on a assignment for ELLE magazine to look at new styles and tastes. With her film Nikon she also photographed for herself: children clinging to their parents, shopkeepers in striking outfits, passers-by, faces and clothes.
Shot in black and white and in color, the pictures are less a documentation of the Soviet Union than a curious, attentive look at people, capturing the city a few years before the USSR’s end.
