New and recent abstract works by Carl E. Hazlewood, from two large-scale pieces to small works on paper.
The show is anchored by two large-scale works shown in New York for the first time, a new suite of small works on paper, and medium-scale pieces made in 2022. It looks at scale, materials and how Hazlewood’s abstraction has developed in recent years.
This is his second solo show with the gallery. It runs alongside his presentation at the Newark Museum of Art, and offers a rare look at work made while he was busy building Aljira, a contemporary art center in Newark, New Jersey.
