Works by four artists, from collage to yarn-wrapped medical drips, on how screens and algorithms shape the way we look at pictures.

Curated by Jude Broughan, the show borrows its title from Leo Steinberg’s 1968 lecture on the “flatbed” picture plane, and argues that we now view images on a diagonal, through tilted phones and laptops. It links printing matrices and multiples to the algorithms that generate near-identical images online.

Zorawar Sidhu’s large dog-eared images tacked to the wall, Dana Robinson’s pop-culture collages, Bill Abdale’s fire escape in Night Shift and Dina Weiss’s chiffon curtains and yarn-wrapped medical drips turn the gallery into a clubhouse, hideout or hospital room.
