Oct 9 – Nov 7, 2026 East Village
Eight artists treat the archive as contested territory, in photography, film, painting, drawing and installation.
Curated by Sascha Lewit, the show gathers artists who work as archivists, drawing on family photographs, re-photographed media and found imagery to question who controls historical narrative.
Richard Prince and Amin Yousefi both use re-photography toward opposite ends: Yousefi on post-revolution Iran, Prince on consumerism. Andrea Orejarena’s sculptural video American Burger addresses overconsumption, and Zion Estrada debuts the mixed-media installation Grief Box 48.
