Sep 9 – Oct 24, 2026 Tribeca

New votive-boat sculptures, adorned Victorian busts, watercolors and altered share certificates tracing empire, trade and migration, in Locke’s third show with the gallery.

A new fleet in the Odyssey series, model ships from seventeenth-century galleons to modern tankers made in the tradition of votive boats hung in churches, is laden with beads, medals, cowrie shells, coins and imagery from Locke’s altered share certificates.

In the Souvenirs series, nineteenth-century Parian ware busts of Queen Victoria, Nelson, George Washington and others are dressed in found regalia. A new sculpture, Foreign Exchange 3, sets a Victoria statue among Caribbean buildings and plants; watercolors complete the show.
