Group exhibition
settle for a good fantasy
Janice Guy, Joe Mama-Nitzberg, Shaun Pierson and David Seidner
Sep 11 – Oct 31, 2026
Portraits by four photographers who build their subjects from mismatched fragments rather than a single idealized image.
The show brings together Janice Guy’s 1970s gelatin silver self-portrait grids, David Seidner’s fragmented fashion and portrait prints from the 1980s, Shaun Pierson’s small framed pigment prints, and Joe Mama-Nitzberg’s inkjet prints and object works. Each assembles a portrait from disparate sources, leaving the pieces unresolved.
Pierson was in the gallery’s 2024 Tiptoeing through the Kitchen; for the other three artists this is a first presentation at Luhring Augustine.
