Oscar yi HouNightcrawling
Sep 11 – Oct 24, 2026 Tribeca
New paintings of underground nightlife and its aftermath, with figures dissolving into drips and washes of colored light.
In his third solo show with the gallery, yi Hou moves from the frontal, text-bordered portraits of earlier years into the crowd itself. Dripping washes of oil and gouache merge bodies and setting into one field of light, and a direct gaze often links sitter and viewer.
A publication, Nightcrawling: More Life, pairs the artist’s writing with texts by Juliana Huxtable, Kay Gabriel and others.
