Curran HatlebergRiver’s Dream 2010–2020
A decade of pigment prints of everyday life in the American South, from porches and junkyards to rivers and roadsides.
The show gathers some sixty pigment prints made between 2010 and 2020, nearly all 12 by 15 inches. They picture people and places met along rivers and back roads: domino players, a picnic, porch gatherings, a boxing ring, junkyards, and a man covered in bees.
Animals recur, among them snakes, a dead alligator and a dog in a screen door, alongside quiet views of water, flowers and sunsets.
