Brian Rutenberg
Sep 14 – Nov 30, 2026 Midtown
Abstract landscape paintings in oil on linen and paper, inspired by the artist’s memories of the South Carolina coast.
Rutenberg’s abstract landscapes draw on memories of growing up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and are built from fractal line, saturated color and quick, instinctive responses to remembered nature. The show brings together oil paintings on linen and on paper from 2023 to 2026, including series titled Weather’s Wind, The Wild South, Lady Banks Rose and Clambank.
It is shown in the gallery’s new space on the seventh floor of the Fuller Building. Forum Gallery has represented the painter since 2001.
