Scott ReederIdeas (cont.)
New paintings of dogs and skeletons going about human business, alongside handwritten list paintings and loose abstractions.
Reeder’s dogs sip white wine on a veranda in the south of France or surf the web late at night, and in a restaging of Matisse’s Interior with Etruscan Vase (1940) a dog in glasses looks like the painter himself. List paintings such as Weed Names and a to-do list for an unmade abstract painting hang among abstractions collaged with drawings from his studio walls and floor.
It is his second show with the gallery.
