Anne HoltropLow-relief
Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Ladbroke Hall
Oct 13 – Dec 19, 2026 Notting Hill
Three new functional cast-glass tables whose thick, irregular surfaces modulate the light passing through them.
Holtrop’s first exhibition with the gallery presents a new series of tables made by pouring molten glass into graphite moulds lined with sand relief imprints. The casting leaves crystalline, uneven low reliefs, inspired by ancient stone reliefs he saw in Aswan, that fracture and bend light.
The heavy glass panes lean on one another and hold each other up without joinery. Holtrop works between the Netherlands and Bahrain, and his cast-glass Misk Art Institute in Riyadh is due to open in 2027.
