Layered Memories

Isaac Pelayo, Alfredo Dofre, Daniel Gonzalez, Rei, Paul Roustan and others

Figurative work by nine contemporary artists, from portraiture to abstraction, on memory and identity.

Curated by Jonathan Anderson, the show brings together nine artists who use the human figure to ask what people carry, preserve, conceal and inherit. Portraiture, expressive abstraction, symbolism and transformed bodies treat the figure as a living archive of personal and collective memory.

The artists are Isaac Pelayo, Alfredo Dofre, Daniel Gonzalez, Rei, Paul Roustan, Julietta Malina, David Gilmore, Debbie Korbel and James Alpert.
