David Stewart KleinThey Look Back
Figurative paintings in oil and acrylic, plus digital giclée prints, of portraits, couples and solitary figures.
Klein’s figures are drawn from the people around him: intimate portraits, couples in argument, silent groups, lone standing or moving bodies. He works in oil and acrylic on canvas, and also makes sculpture and drawings, choosing vivid or restrained palettes to suit each mood.
The featured works include Survival, Painful Revenge and Maggie’s Letter, along with smaller digital painting giclées. Klein, raised in Queens and trained at Otis College of Art and Design, held his first solo show in 2018.
