Resin friezes, ornaments and large freestanding screens and gates that encase family photographs, jewelry and clippings.

Garcia builds sculptures from etched drawings and ephemera sealed in tinted resin, moving between small objects and architecturally scaled screens and gates. Heirloom chains, family photographs and historical clippings hang suspended in washes of blue, red, green and amber.

The work grows from caring for her father, whose dementia has made him long for a home in the Philippines, and from her own first adult trip there. It is her debut solo show with the gallery.
