Worlds within Worlds

Jasser Membreno, Jian Lee, FADNAT, Jenn Lima and Ricardo Garcia

Paintings, drawings, illustration, ceramic sculpture and mixed media by five Los Angeles artists, set between reality and imagination.

Curated by Jasser Membreno, who also shows his own work, the exhibition gathers five artists whose fantastical, dark, playful and surreal scenarios blur the line between the familiar and the imagined. Works draw on emotion, memory, symbolism and storytelling.

The mix includes Membreno’s monster-filled mythological paintings, Jian Lee’s animation-based work with augmented reality, FADNAT’s humorous intuitive paintings, Jenn Lima’s hand-built clay figures and Ricardo Garcia’s colorful paintings of Los Angeles and its people.
