Recent paintings in acrylic, glitter, foil and foam on canvas, from small works to large, some reworked over decades.

The title comes from a Frank O’Hara poem. Martin’s canvases of the last few years revisit his recurring motifs: night skies built from glitter, foam discs and dripping acrylic, and undulating stripes and columns, one painted on raw canvas.

Silver Cycles (2026) is covered in aluminum foil and refers to an Eddie Harris jazz album. An untitled work dated 1988–2018 and a large untitled one from 2019–2023 show paintings built up in layers over many years.
