Muertos De Print

Kalli Arte Collective

Linocuts, woodcuts, serigraphs and other prints on Day of the Dead themes, with an altar and ofrendas.

Printmakers from the Kalli Arte Collective show about two dozen works in relief, screen and lithographic techniques, among them linocuts, woodcuts, serigraphs, a cyanotype on canvas and a monoscreen print. Subjects range from death and mourning to family, memory and political protest.

Early Day of the Dead posters by Chicano artists Leo Limón, Gronk and Patssi Valdez, from 1981–2000, sit beside newer work. Martha Hernandez contributes an altar and ofrendas.
