Sep 25 – Nov 7, 2026 Miracle Mile

Three artists from Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia draw on Māori, Aboriginal and European ways of seeing in paintings and photographs.

Shane Cotton’s layered iconographic paintings, Simone Griffin’s dot-technique paintings and Fiona Pardington’s staged still-life photographs share the gallery, each drawing on inherited cultural knowledge and the bicultural histories of the two countries.

Cotton and Pardington are of Māori and European descent; Griffin, born in Murgon, Queensland, connects to the Koa, Wangan, Jagalingou and Wakk Wakka peoples. Pardington is also representing New Zealand at this year’s Venice Biennale.
