Five Bay Area artists consider inheritance: what we carry from earlier generations in our bodies, materials and shared records.
The show brings together five Bay Area artists around questions of inheritance: what passes down to us through the body, through materials and through the shared historical record, and what we decide to keep.
It is presented by the MA in Museum Studies program with guest curator and instructor Deena Chalabi. Included is Stephanie Syjuco’s Block Out the Sun (2019), thirty archival pigment prints made as an intervention in the Missouri Historical Society archives.
