Archival photographs of San Francisco’s Muni transit system, taken between 1903 and 2025 by agency photographers.

Drawn from the SFMTA Photo Archive, a collection of more than 200,000 images built up over 120 years, the show traces San Francisco’s public transit system from cable cars through buses and Muni Metro, along with the neighborhoods and riders around them.

Photographers represented include Horace Chaffee, Carmen Magana, Ken Snodgrass and Lester Teal. The exhibition opened in January with a public reception and has since been extended through November 25.
