David C. DriskellWake Up Everybody
Oct 2 – Dec 19, 2026 Dogpatch
Paintings, collages and prints by the late artist, educator and curator, made from 1960 to the early 2000s.
Driskell taught art for nearly forty years and championed other Black artists as a curator, while keeping up his own studio practice. The selection moves between figuration and abstraction, African and Christian imagery, jazz, and landscapes drawn from his years in Maine.
The title comes from the 1975 Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes song, chosen to honor his role as a teacher and mentor.
