The page covers only Villalobos’s half of the pairing. His large oils on canvas use geometric forms and layered planes, with thick pigment meant to hold light and build texture. They hint at architecture and landscape without depicting either.
Villalobos, born in Oaxaca in 1950, trained as an architect before turning to painting. He last showed with the gallery in 2024, at its St. Helena space.
