Twenty-seven documentary photographs of Bolivia’s Mennonite farming communities and their heavy use of agrochemicals.

Antenozio photographed Mennonite settlements in the Santa Cruz region of eastern Bolivia between 2020 and 2023. The communities, about 120,000 people, live by strict religious tradition, reject modern technology and farm maize, wheat and genetically modified soy with pesticides, some banned in Europe.

The series won the 2025 Contest Lettura Portfolio, which rewards work on climate and the environment. The show opens on the first day of Out of Frame, the gallery’s three-day programme of portfolio reviews and talks.
