Photographs of the 2025 Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India, seen through the eyes of five photographers.

Five photographers travelled to Prayagraj to document the 2025 Kumbh Mela, described as the largest religious gathering in human history. Their images follow the crowds, faces, gestures, rituals and chance encounters of the event, at the meeting point of the Ganges and the Yamuna.

The selection is presented as only a fragment of what the group saw, a partial attempt to convey the scale of the gathering.
