L’Envers du visible (The Reverse Side of the Visible)

Contemporary photography shown with painting, sculpture, textile and drawing, around the traces a gesture leaves once it is no longer visible.

Nine artists, some from the gallery and some invited, set manipulated, embroidered, cut, woven and hand-enhanced photographs beside painting, ceramics and textile. The works turn on imprints, layers and transformations of material.

Charlotte Mano’s Linceul series uses a sheet as the trace of an absent body; Susanne Wellm reweaves collected landscape images; Wesley Stringer cuts and interlaces photographs; Sophie Zénon’s Fugace series layers time. Antoni Taulé, Patrizia Mussa, Jean-Baptiste Brueder, Anne Commet and Audrey Schaditzki complete the group.
