Trésors de Sanxingdui et Jinsha. Une fascinante civilisation chinoise
Bronze masks, jades and gold objects from the Bronze Age sites of Sanxingdui and Jinsha in Sichuan, some shown outside China for the first time.
The show presents loans from six Sichuan museums and institutions, organized with the Sichuan Provincial Museum. Monumental bronzes, striking masks, jades and gold objects made for ritual use between 1600 and 800 BCE show a local civilization that reshaped understanding of China’s Bronze Age.
It includes finds from six new pits explored in 2020–2022, in an immersive set design that also traces nearly a century of excavation, forty years after the discovery of the Sanxingdui sacrificial pits.
