Nino KapanadzeInertia
New paintings that move between abstraction and figuration, in the French-Georgian painter’s first solo show at Michel Rein in Paris.
Kapanadze gathers images that have run through her work for years, among them horse races, the sea and Venus, letting them fade, shift and resurface through layers of transparent pigment. The title borrows the physics term for a body that keeps moving until a force changes its course, which she applies both to painting and to her own life of displacements.
