David HominalPar cœur
New oil paintings built on the heart motif, around a row of seven canvases whose edges join to form further hearts.
Every work is a 2026 oil on canvas built on the heart. At the center hang seven canvases side by side: the cropped hearts at their edges meet those of the next canvas to form further hearts. Hominal painted them together, moving from one to the next, yet each stands alone.
The series grew from cutting two small drawings into heart-shaped pieces to fit them onto one sheet. The title, “By Heart”, plays on memorizing and on the heart as a signature that names no one.
