The premiere of Drawing Blind Drawing (2026), a 35mm film diptych of Dean’s and Nauman’s hands drawing side by side, one of them working blind.
Dean filmed drawing sessions with Nauman at his home in New Mexico in 2025–26, with a plaster cast of Goethe’s hand and one of Nauman’s bronze hands as the still life. Masks traced from his collage of torn photocopies put both artists’ hands in one frame; the silent double projection, over seven meters long, runs about four minutes as gold- and silverpoint drawings appear.
Nauman’s collage hangs with the film on the ground floor, and Dean’s 16mm films screen daily in the basement from Oct 20 to Nov 14.
