Paintings of half-abstract bodies, landscapes and household things, some with dried leaves worked in, in de Paoli’s third solo show with the gallery.

De Paoli, born in Buenos Aires in 1978 and based in Stamford, New York, paints figures in reds and skin tones that hover between the recognizable and the abstract, sometimes working leaves, wood, cork or candles into the surface. The title work, Riding hot (2025), is oil and dried leaves on a canvas three meters wide.

The show continues at Abraham & Wolff, 12 rue des Saints-Pères, where two large paintings both titled Distant Call hang until Oct 10.
