The Ghanaian artist’s first Paris exhibition fills the whole foundation with new installations and work by nine associated artists and collectives.

Mahama, born in Tamale in 1987, builds installations from collected materials, archives and industrial remains to look at Ghana’s colonial and postcolonial past. Things Fall Apart reconstructs a Ghanaian glass-bottle factory opened in 1966 from its original materials, and a new version of Parliament of Ghosts, a chamber of wooden Ashanti stools, hosts music, talks and performances throughout the show.

The associated artists include James Barnor, Gideon Appah, Zohra Opoku, Dorothy Akpene Amenuke and the Congolese plantation workers’ collective CATPC.
